I am on Twitter, unsurprisingly as @gryvon. If anyone else is on Twitter (I know Sejitsu and Avocado Love are ^_^) let me know cause I need more fandom in my twitter stream.
So my
hp_3fofun story has been turned in, full of Snape, Draco, and Harry goodness. The story will appear on the community LJ sometime after November 1st and then my site January 1st. I think this is the first challenge comm I've run into that requests an exclusive on posting for a certain amount of time, which almost made me not participate. But the story idea was awesome and it'll make its rounds to other sites eventually.
I can't wait for December 9th and getting my first short story published! Looking into doing a lot more anthology submissions, and November's going to be insane with NaNoWriMo. I will get my novel done.
This month is all about KakaIru, with maybe some Psych (aka the third part in that Psych series I've been doing where Shawn's actually psychic) thrown in if I get done early with the rest of it. And then that kills off my signups up until Yuletide. But it's a good thing October is light because...
Gallbladder surgery! My evil gallbladder overlord and the gallstones that are giving me problems will be going away October 13th. Then it shall (hopefully) no longer dictate when I eat, though its lack may dictate what I eat. Everyone reacts differently, I'm told. I have a friend who has no problems with foods. My mom's got food allergies so it's hard to tell what's that and what's from missing her gallbladder. Another friend only has problem with wheat. I haven't had any food issues so far, just issues with when I eat and how much I eat and whether I sleep enough or not.
So, trying to get all the writing I can in before October 13th, cause I don't know how loopy the pain meds are gonna make me.
I lost most of September to a cold. Bugger drug out for two weeks until they finally (finally!) put me on a ZPack after much complaining at the doctor's office that it wasn't going away. (First round of meds they gave me did nothing. Over the counter meds did nothing. ZPack worked.) Still have a bit of a lingering cough from it (three weeks later) but it's mostly cleared up.
I recently switched to using Delicious to bookmark recs, but with the changes, it looks like I'll be upgrading my own system instead. Probably gonna do some revamping, update the interface so it does more autopopulating and has better tag management. The site's not really very pretty but it's up at http://recs.gryvon.com (and has been for a while, I just keep forgetting to put links up).
The Playboy Club is an awesome TV show, and not at all like what the trailers for it made it out to appear. 1960s Chicago with the mob, politics, gay rights, romance, and murder. There's no nudity that I've noticed so far, which is the big thing people were up in arms about when they heard about the show. Sean Maher (Simon from Firefly) plays a gay man married to a lesbian who works at the club, and they're both working with a gay rights movement. I'm sad that I can't DVR it since it's on the same time as Castle, H50, and Alphas (though that just finished a season) but On Demand carries it so that's win.
Alphas is also pretty good for people who like the Superhero genre. It's not as plot packed as Heroes, if I remember correctly, but it's got some pretty good writing, some great guest stars, and damn that season finale... Wow. Can't wait for the next season and all the changes that will be happening.
Still working my way through Game of Thrones, whenever I can manage to drag the boyfriend over and sit him in front of the TV long enough to watch some episodes. (He lacks cable and we're usually at his place, so this doesn't happen often.) Slowly watching Tiger & Bunny with the twin. I wanna watch No. 6 though I'm probably gonna wait until it's out on DVD or until next summer when I'll hopefully have a better setup for streaming at home.
I keep dreaming about mundane things happening, real boring normal life stuff which is not my normal fare since normally I'm not in my dreams at all. It's very odd waking up and finding out that was a dream. Like 'I though I trimmed my nails. Oh, that was a dream.' That mixed with intermittent insomnia has made sleep very weird.
